Lead Pastor
The Gathering Place is a four year old church plant located in beautiful Airdrie Alberta. As one of the fastest growing cities in Alberta, the dramatic changes affecting this vibrant and youthful community provide an incredible opportunity for ministry. We are currently searching for a lead pastor who will help us take the next step in realizing our purpose of “Living like Family: Loving like Jesus” so as to positively affect Airdrie for Christ for this time and eternity.
Personal Qualifications
1. A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. A strong, observable love and commitment to his family.
3. A “people person”, who possesses a deep love for those both inside and outside the church.
4. An enthusiastic teacher of God’s word who is able to speak in a sincere manner to the hearts and minds of a congregation with diverse age groupings and varied levels of spiritual maturity
5. Seminary degree or equivalent combination of experience and education from an institution that is compatible with our statement of faith.
6. A person who is able to foster unity, while appreciating diversity.
7. A person with a heart for Church Planting.
Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership to the elders’ team, partnering in the implementation of the mission and vision of The Gathering Place.
2. Oversee the congregational care and connecting ministries of the Gathering Place.
3. Regularly preach and teach God’s Word and provide oversight to the corporate worship planning.
4. Oversee the ministry teams in the development of new ministries and programs that will help us realize the mission and vision of the church.
5. Participate with the elders and leaders in the assessment of needs and evaluation of ministry effectiveness.
6. Development and oversight of a missional strategy within the greater community, in collaboration with the elders, and others.
We are a smaller congregation,around 34-45,most having been with us since we were started as a Church Plant around 5 years ago.
The successful applicant will be required to have a Church Planters assessment done through our MB Conference.
